Our hiking tours immerse you in the great outdoors, its natural beauty and offer a historical and cultural experience for the destination. Whether you're hiking in the countryside, hanging out in a museum or grabbing a pint with friends in the pub after a day of activities, you will love being active in the beautiful surroundings and having fun.
Matt and the team have spent many hours designing tour itineraries that will provide dedicated time for hiking and ample time to take in the local offerings of the region. Many who prefer an active vacation have different activity levels in mind. Historic Hiking Adventures offers two types of hiking holidays; each tour itinerary does allow individuals to customize to their level - opting out of hiking for a day of shopping or sightseeing, or the option to be picked up at the mid-way point on most hiking days.
Historic Hiking Adventures offers two types of tours/activity levels - our "experience" hiking tours and our "challenge" hiking tours.
"Experience" hiking tours
Most of our Experience tours offer a six to seven-day itinerary with three dedicated days of hiking featuring the highlights of the area. The hiking averages around 8 miles a day with a half-day opt out.
"Challenge" hiking tours
Most of our Challenge tours offer a 7 day itinerary with 6 dedicated days of hiking. The hiking averages around 12-16 miles a day.
"Coroporate team-building" hiking tours & Programs
Corporate Team-Building tours offer highly customizable itineraries for small and large leadership groups desiring individual and team growth. On all Historic Hiking Adventures, you and your small tour group will hike by day and stay in upscale hotels and inns at night. The only items you will need to carry in your backpack will be your provisions for the day. Historic Hiking Adventures will take care of getting your luggage to the next night's destination while you spend the day connecting with nature in the great outdoors. Ground transportation, expert presenters, entrances to museums & historical sites and most meals are included.
